“A skillfully edited fever dream that blends the chaos of sound/music with a crush of imagery.”

space: A Meditation on the Meaning of Art
It was supposed to be a simple film about a local landlord’s quest to convert an old run-down industrial complex into a thriving art scene. But when an eccentric artist diagnosed with ALS moves into one of the new art studios — on his own quest to paint until his dying breath — everything changes.
Space:
A Meditation
on the Meaning
of Art
is a feature documentary that asks (and maybe answers) the question, "Why make art?" When his landlord sets out to convert an aging industrial complex into art studios, filmmaker Poulshock is invited to make a film about the three-year construction project. But three years turn into eight as their journey becomes a deep dive into humankind's quest for meaning. Space is a film about space. About the artists who inhabit it. And the art they create in it. It’s about chaos, beauty, wonder, shock, creation. Disruption, gentrification, politics, bureaucracy. And the healing power of art.
"So creative. Such a beautiful mind. Set it up beautifully as a meditation, yet so disruptive."
— Paola diFlorio, Director, Awake: The Life of Yogananda
